Hejje / Gym workout tracker
750 exercises searchable on the phone with no signal, sets and reps logged as you go, estimated 1RM climbing lift by lift, and muscle balance across the week. Free, encrypted, and no email address asked for.
Free · iOS 17 or later · Android 8.0 or later
Basements, concrete, steel racks and no windows. It is the one place a fitness app is most likely to be opened and least likely to have a connection, and it is where an app that queries its exercise list from a server becomes a spinner between you and your next set.
Hejje keeps the catalogue on the phone. Searching for an incline dumbbell press is a local database query, so it returns instantly whether you have five bars or none, and nothing about logging a session behaves differently in airplane mode.
Every session is sealed on the device before it syncs, with a key only you hold, and our server stores ciphertext it cannot open. Signing up asks for a first name: no email address, no password, no phone number. There is no advertising network and no analytics SDK in either app.
What is readable on our side is a short and specific list, and there is a third category, the shape of the data, that encryption does not hide. Both are set out in full on the private fitness tracker page.
Lifting apps usually stop at the gym door. Hejje also records walks, runs, hikes and rides with GPS, and logs food from more than 13,000 built-in items with calorie and protein targets, water and weight. One streak, one calendar and one set of weekly totals across all of it.
That combination is the actual argument, and it has a page of its own.
What it does not do
There is no workout importer, so a history logged elsewhere cannot be brought across today. There is no web app. There is no dedicated superset grouping, though sets are logged in the order you do them. And it does not connect to a watch or a heart rate strap for a gym session.
Free on iPhone and Android. No email needed to begin, and nothing leaves your phone until you say so.
